Dr. Appt Recap

Dr's appt was short and sweet. Learned to do the heparin shots.. (of course on the cute little peice of fake skin they give you.. its so easy when you're stabbing foam).. The nurse told me what the rest of my time with the RE's office will be like too. Blood draw on monday.. probably one more blooddraw after that.. Once my levels get high enough (I think its usually 1000?) they are going to do an ultrasound to make sure there is a sac in the right place.. Then about 2 weeks after that i will go back to look for the heartbeat! So probably somewhere around 7 weeks.. Then after that its back to my OB.. Oh.. and they are adding baby aspirin to my treatment too.. which is fine by me.. thats something easy!

Filling the Heparin script was not so easy.. Took forever.. and the pharmacist said that my insurance would only fill the script one month at a time (For a $30 copay each month!).. Thats all fine and good.. but my script was for 60 vials of Heparin with 5 refills.. So what I got was 15 vials of Heparin with 5 refills.. (Mathematically it should have been 20 vials, but I'd say 9 would be about right). Weirder thing was, the script for the syringes was separate.. and that was only for 30 syringes with 5 refills.. So one set of syringes will only last me two weeks....and even the refills will only last me 2.5 months.. Kind of a pain.. especially since I filled the script at the Target by my work instead of my normal Target pharmacy. (I heart my pharmacist there.. he's adorable) and the pharmacist at the one by my work said that syringe scripts can't be transferred to another store. Oh well.. I guess I'll just have to straighten that out at some point with the Dr/Pharmacy..

Oh boy, sounds like more craziness to add to all of this! I hope that your first injection at home isn't too bad! I will look for that helpful link you mentioned. I'm so nervous about adding this to the mix of all the other shit we have to deal with! Argh! But I'm glad to know what to do about it. They are doing further b/w and will 'confirm' the diagnosis sometime next week.
