Yesterday was my friend Stephenie's shower.. (She's the one on the far right).Long time blog readers may recall my ANGRY blog post upon her pregnancy announcement when she was 17 weeks.. In any case, I have been able to let go of that anger now, even though its hard to think that I should either have a newborn or a belly as big as hers in this photo (I'm next to her, so my itty bitty belly looks itty bittier).
It was nice to see a bunch of my girlfriends from college. Three of us are all pg now (The girl the 2nd from the left is about 28 weeks), so all the old ladies were joking that it was an epidemic.. And convienently, her shower was in our old college town, so after, the three of us that drove together took a drive around our old college campus.. Its mostly the same, although they have made some changes.. But what struck me most about it, was how small it is.. In my senior year I lived in the "far away" dorms that were on the opposite side of campus from most of my classes.. I used to think it was SUCH a long walk.. Then I went to grad school at a college that is probably 10 times the size.. and going back to my little college and looking at how close together everything really was.. its pretty silly that i ever could have thought it was a long walk. Anyway, it made me feel very nostalgic, I never much liked my college years.. I wasn't a party girl and didn't like living in the dorms that much, but there was part of me yesterday that wanted to go back to that relatively carefree time..
