Evie's Cradle

My mother arrived with this this evening.. Its a cradle that was handmade by one of the regular customers at the restaurant and was for auction at our annual charity event this past February (It benefits the NICU at the hospital where i'll give birth). Apparently, my father bid on it and won it for me.. in February.. when I was pregnant the 2nd time. So this is all a little bittersweet.. but it was SO sweet of him. He's kept it a secret this whole time. I am pretty sure I asked him at some point who had won it, because, it was so pretty and everyone was raving about it, but I know the bidding was way too high for me. He must have lied to me about it.

But.. its mine now! Well its Evie's.. So now I don't have to worry about how we'll fit a big bassinet or PnP in our tiny bedroom.. She can just sleep in this beautiful cradle. The only thing I'm not sure of, is how we would attach a bumper on the inside since there are no slats to tie onto.. I guess we can go bumper-less or figure something else out.

In other baby news, I saw my belly REALLY move for the first time today.. I think Evie must have been doing flips.. It didn't feel like strong kicks.. but a lot of small movements and I thought I saw my belly move, so I pulled up my shirt (and down my pants) and my belly was jumping ALL over the place! It was so freaking cool! I wish Jeff had been home to see it..

Now I am just waiting for Jeff to get home so we can go see Zach and Miri Make a Porno. We are HUUUUGE Kevin Smith fans.. so this is a must for us.
