Waiting For Daisy

Waiting for Daisy by Peggy Orenstein

If you read my blog, you should probably read this book.. I bought this book awhile ago... I think before I got pregnant again... I hadn't been reading many books for awhile.. but the other night i had to go to Traffic court so picked a book to take to court with me.. I read about half of the book while i was sitting in court for about 2 hours. It was such an easy book to read, despite the difficult topic. I read a little last night before bed, then finished it this afternoon at work.

A summary of what the author endures over the course of about 3-4 years:
Months of trying on her own
Treatment with clomid and injectibles
3 Miscarriages
2 failed IVFs
One failed Donor IVF
One failed adoption attempt

As you might imagine by the title.. she does eventually end up with a baby.. but there is no sappy "happy ending".. The author is realistic about everything.... She talks about her experiences with humor, honesty and at times, raw emotion. I identified with SO much of this book, even though I did not go through anything near what this woman did.

Just read it!
