Nope.. not my husband..
My husbands best friend Nick.
We'll start with today.. Jeff got up early and went to Lowes and got the stuff he needed for the toilet re-installation.. He comes home.. problem is.. he has the wrong wrench size.. and doesn't have one anywhere in the house that will work.. , so he can't get bolt off the toilet to get it put back on the floor properly.. He is about to give up and leave me for another full day without a toilet.. and a list of things that *I* need to go and buy so he can fix it later (He works 9am to 9pm on wednesdays).. Its about 8am at this point. I have already been dragged out of bed to try to find the wrench size when he called from Lowes.. and I am trying to get back to sleep but I can't.. I am ANGRY.. I start flipping out and yelling at him.. telling him that if he can't do this project then I'm gonna hire someone to do it.. I'm gonna call a plumber because i'm not gonna be here all day with out a toilet.. etc...
When.. without warning.. We hear "Hello?" downstairs and up walks Nick.. with a bolt cutter tool.. In about 10 minutes Nick and jeff have the toilet back in working order.. Nick says.."Okay.. I gotta go to work now".. and leaves almost as quickly as he appeared. I know Jeff didn't ask him to come over at 8 am.. We live about 20 minutes away from him.. and he works right near his house.. So he drove here 40 minutes out of his way before work.. WOW!! Can you say amazing? I also told him that I think he saved our marriage.. :)
Other amazing things our Superhero has done:
*He brought me a McDonalds Apple Pie last night (He witnessed my breakdown two evenings ago)
*He helped Jeff do a large repair on my car which took most of a sunday afternoon..
*He once brought us a wheel/tire when we got a flat on the Thruway without a spare.. He had to come about 20 miles down the thruway then make an illegal u-turn on and probably pay a giant toll.. but he did it anyway..
*He pulled Jeff's car out of the end of our driveway after he got it stuck because he didn't snowblow it before trying to back out.. We were stuck and didn't know what to do.. We called Nick and he was there in like a half hour..
* There are many countless just genuinely NICE things he has done for my husband..
Well.. I think most of my audience is married.. but if you happen to be single.. and would like to meet this amazing guy.. let me know. :-)
