Just when I thought I couldn't get more aggravated with Doctors offices...

So.. Remember how Jeff passed out at the gym the other day? That was TUESDAY.. We called the Dr tuesday afternoon.. They called him back later and left a message, but when he called back, he kept getting put on hold/disconnected.. And then the office closed for the day.. He felt much better wednesday morning (but he's still taking it easy cuz he thinks he might have a concussion).. so he never bothered calling the dr back (esp. since they blew him off on Tuesday)..

So today, around 1pm he called me and he said they'd left him 3 messages while he's been at work this morning.. He asked me to call the Dr's office because he had just tried calling them back and they were on lunch and he is busy at work today.. So I said I'd call them around 2 when they'd be back from lunch..and let them know he was doing okay..
Not 3 minutes later.. A cop knocks on my door asking if Jeff is there.. And then asks if he's OK because the Dr's office asked him to come check on him!!! It scared the crap out of me.. but once I realized that everything was OK, I was mildly amused.. but then I got PISSED!

If they were going to be so concerned about him, shouldn't they have called him back on say, Wednesday? Or even yesterday? But you just ignore him for two days and then when he doesn't answer his phone for three hours (DURING A WORK DAY) you call the police? If he really did have a serious head injury and hadn't sought medical attention he'd have been dead in two days! Even the police officer seemed to think it was stupid..
So I called the office after their lunch break was done and kinda bitched at them.. They apologized.. I told them I understood the reason for their concern, but that there was better ways of handling it than scaring the CRAP out of me. I gave them my cell number as Jeff's new emergency contact (who knows why it wasn't in his file already).. and the nurse was actually really nice (because she felt bad that she sent a COP to my house) and gave me the "back line" number that goes straight through to the nurses, instead of having to wait on hold with the receptionist for hours.. and told us to call that if Jeff needs anything or wants to be seen.
