When September Ends: More about us..

So when I started this blog.. I intended it to be eventually for friends and family so I could share all my little pregnancy milestones.
Obviously it has become something quite different..
So... now is as good a time as any to tell you more about us..
Jeff and I met 9 years ago.. Summer 99. I was 17 and had just graduated high school. He was 16 and getting ready to start his senior year. We spent 6 weeks that summer working at our town recreation department. I was a swim instructor and he was a lifeguard/aide. I couldn't stand him. He said things he shouldn't have said..did things he shouldn't have done.. acted like a 16 year old boy.. basically.. Nothing memorable happened that summer at all...
A year later.. we were both a year older.. (this is the most obvious statement ever). I am sure it was a combination of the factors of both of us... but things were completely different. He was sweet, funny, cute.. Maybe I was more interested because i realized college boys weren't all that great.. However.. the 6 weeks of summer was too short... we didn't "fall in love.." although i did leave there with one heck of a crush.. but now with him going off to a college an hour in the opposite direction of my college.. I didn't know if I'd ever see him again..
I found his AOL name.. and at some point sent him an instant message. I don't know what it was about anymore.. We talked on IM a few random times over the course of that year.. but for the most part we lost touch. I returned the pool the following summer, but Jeff didn't.. So my dreams of us picking up there where we left off were shattered.
Once i returned to school, in Fall of 2001.. suddenly our IM conversations became more frequent and lengthy. Obviously that was the year of 9/11 and I remember having conversations with Jeff about how vulnerable and scared we felt. We also had a lot of fun conversations.. I recall sitting in my dorm room on my computer and giggling.. and telling my roommate I was talking to my husband.. I was in love with this boy who i hadn't seen in 18 months.. So we arranged a "pool reunion" over thanksgiving break. I asked my other former coworker to come with us too.. to make it less like a date.. She backed out at the last minute, but i had one of my college friends visiting me.. so she came with us instead. It went amazingly well, even with the third wheel... however. i chickened out with the whole kiss thing.. My friend basically leapt out of the backseat of the car when we got back to our house.. leaving us alone.. we leaned in.. hugged.. and then I ran away..
The three weeks between thanksgiving and christmas breaks went by SO slowly. Long story short.. we finally went on our first date on December 30th 2001.
We knew almost immediately that we would get married.. but we were young and still in school. Things weren't always perfect.. but we made it and were engaged October 20th 2004 and finally married May 27th 2006.
We bought a cute little house in January of 06
