He got the job!

We didn't get the phone call yesterday we were waiting so anxiously for. But they called just a few minutes ago.. Jeff is going in on Monday to fill out all the paperwork to start his new job.. Its at a store that sells Bikes and Fitness Equipment.. He has a friend that worked there.. Money is still going to be a bit tighter for awhile (although the car business money sucks this time of year anyway, so maybe not).. he has to do a 1 month training/trial period where he will be strictly hourly (not a good hourly rate either) and then he will start earning commissions/bonuses after that.. Also, by my calculations, we'll probably have to pay for two months of insurance from my job.. because I think by the time he is eligible, it will already be past March 1st.. BUT.. in this terrible economy with people unemployed left and right, I am just incredibly thankful that he got a job in two days after being laid off. Other pluses. He doesn't have to work at the Auto show. His earliest start will be 10am and his latest night will be 8pm (as opposed to the two 9am-9pm shifts he used to work each week).

Our childbirth class last night.. well it made me a little nervous about a number of things.. I should have expected it, but I didn't.. Our instructor, being all very pro natural birth, gave us a very negative view of inductions and medications and all of that.. So.. basically I'm a little scared now.. What if 39 weeks ISN'T long enough for Eve to cook? And I'm really scared of needing a c-section now, especially if Jeff isn't going to be able to be home to be with me.. None of this stuff really scared me before. I don't know if I was in denial, or if I just didn't let it scare me cuz I knew she has to get out somehow.. I am not sure I liked that I had to see the c-section video either, even though they just showed it in computer generated illustrations.. It was kinda icky.. I just would almost not know..

The Happiest Baby on the Block class was pretty cool though.. We got to learn how to swaddle her the right way, and all the other tricks to calming her.. I have heard from friends these things work really well. The DVD is included in our class fee too.. so we have to watch that some time soon..

And when we got home from Baby classes, Eve's rug had finally arrived!! It wasn't scheduled to ship until 1/31.. so it was a bit of a suprise! I will have to take pics of it today, although the nursery is still in a little bit of disarray with a few shower gifts that I don't have homes for.. I can always stuff them in the closet, I guess. Everything is DONE in there now, except probably a good cleaning/vacuuming of the floors. And I have to wash the cradle bedding before she comes, but that is technically not part of the nursery.. The carseat and swing and bouncer and snap n go stroller are all assembled.. Oh, we do have to install the movement monitor, we have to get a board to put under the mattress and I have to get batteries for EVERYTHING.. I need to make a list of exactly what batteries I need. The only other thing I can think of that I need to get done is washing the cradle bedding, everything else is pretty much ready to go!
