Randomness..

Soo.. on the upside. I got myself to the gym.. Had an OK workout.. I need to work on my endurance for swimming.. I did 1000 yards.. and tried to do as much as possible without stopping, but it was hard.. Did a full hour of cardio though..

On the downside.. Jeff accomplished NOTHING in the bathroom floor demolition today.. He got out of work around 6:30.. and then proceeded to play xbox for a couple hours.. Then his friend came over to "help".. so I made them dinner.. They walked up stairs.. looked at the floor for like 2 minutes.. came back down.. and Jeff declared that he is going to go get a Chisel in the morning and get it out.. I told him yesterday he needed a chisel.. First of all.. he's supposed to be going to the gym in the morning.. He has gone to the gym ONCE in the two weeks since we joined.. Secondly.. he had two hours tonite he could have been working on it and he just did NOTHING.. Thirdly.. We need to get the damn floor fixed so we can use the bathroom and I don't have to wear shoes to pee..

Another thing i am PISSED about.. My sister.. She is turning 40 this week.. So for her 40th birthday, she and her husband and all of her friends are going to Vegas.. What kind of people go to Vegas for a birthday party? Makes me think of either ultra rich people or single, childless, sex and the city types.. My sister is neither of these.. nor are any of her friends.. They are all middle class types with at least 2 kids each.. My sister has three kids... Well..no big deal.. she knew she was going on this trip a year and a half ago... Certainly.. she had arranged Child care in all that time..

uhhh.. noo..

She left this afternoon.. She asked me ONE week ago.. (tuesday actually) if there were any days I was available to watch her kids.. I have one day off this week, so i told her I'd stay with her kids overnight..i dont' mind.. but some notice would have been nice.. heck.. if she had asked me a month ago.. maybe i'd have taken two nights off of work... I heard that on Friday, she was still unsure who would be watching her children the last two evenings of her trip.. I asked her why she waited so long and she said "Well, I was hoping that since it's my birthday trip..someone would step up and arrange childcare"

Here's the kicker.. last night.. the night before she was leaving.. she called me at 10:30 to see if I could "switch" days that I was watching the kids.. or maybe watch them Friday night too.. NO.. I CAN'T.. because you see.. i am WORKING.. So I assume, that last night, she was STILL unsure who was watching her kids when.. Maybe she STILL doesn't know..

And just in case you weren't convinced of how awful this whole situation is.. Remember my neice with the broken leg? OH YEAH! She's getting her CAST OFF ON WEDNESDAY.. My father is going to take her to the Dr.. but what time is her appointment? Oh.. My sister doesn't know that yet.. My father needs to call and make the appointment.

I swear!! I'll be a better mother than this.. Just let me have a goddamn baby! And I know it sounds bitchy.. but this has been going on with my sister for quite sometime.. She is selfish, imposes on others constantly, and she just doesn't get it..She feels like she's entiled to whatever she wants.. She was a fairly good mom to her older two kids when they were little.. but since the third was born (it might have started slightly before that).. she has been on a downward spiral of caring less and less and partying more and more.. Add to that, she went back to "beauty school" so not only does that take her away from the kids more than she already was.. but its a convenient excuse for her to make new young friends..

I will NEVER be like that..
