So after two rough nights of leaving DD with MIL.. and spending the 2nd night crying myself to sleep.. the third and fourth nights went much better.. Some of the nesties suggested i put mylicon drops right in Eve's bottles, since MIL seems very hesitant to give them to her, and if she gets them while she eats it might help better than after.. Well.. so far, this has been a HUGE success. Both nights my MIL and DH reported no screaming fits and a generally happy baby.. I did however discover that my MIL has been putting laundry detergent in the fabric softener dispenser in my washer for the last 6 weeks apparently.. SOOO.. I guess i have to talk to her about that, but that is pretty minor, I'd say.
Eve has just BEEN a happier baby lately..She turned 3 months old on Sunday.. In the morning after we get up, she sits on the couch next to me and chats and chews on her hands.. If she's feeling motivated she'll hold onto a toy and chew on that.. She loves to smile and laugh..
The only bad thing is the past three nights she has woken up at 5am ON THE DOT. As if she has a baby alarm clock or something.. and will want to eat. Problem is, my body is pretty much adjusted to her waking at 6:30 or 7.. so there is just not a lot there for her.. So this morning it was a pretty dramatic fight.. and we had to call in the daddy brigade to get her back to sleep.. He has a talent and patience for this that i just do not have..
We are taking her to her new Dr tomorrow.. I REALLY REALLY hope I like them and they will be good for her. We are meeting with the PA who I have really liked in the past for my own stuff (she was the one who diagnosed my gallstones in like 10 seconds flat, and she's been really good with DH's asthma stuff too). So I hope she's good with babies too. I am also hoping for some massive weight gain. I am hoping for 10lb12oz or more.. because that will be 2 full lbs from her 2 month to 3 month appts (Even though it will be more than a month between them). It might be a lot to hope for though..
